Let’s put in this way… rejection and misunderstanding is part of the journey of everybody. Academia and research are no exceptions. The important part is to never give up and keep going forward. Every researcher have a story of failures, set backs and raises from hashes to share.

This is usually what I recommend to my students in various phases of the thesis. Just figure out where you are. Pick up a few relevant tips and discuss them with your supervisor.
I do not know about your domain so is not exactly easy to say. However, from a cross domain point of view, this is what I recommend to all my master students in their related work part of their thesis:
Define a Proper Categorization for the Literature Review
It will not solve your "novelty is not up to the level of our journal". However, is an ever green for improving the related work part of your paper. Practically speaking you want to categorize the papers that you believe are relevant a set of categories and build one or more table that summarize your categorization technique.
